Rigmarollers

The Rigmarollers pack out exhilarating shows with their unique take on the blues.
A trio with a massive sound, they put vocals, harmonica, guitar and sousaphone over an irresistible backbeat.
Harmonica virtuoso Ed Hopwood learnt his craft in acclaimed UK blues bands. Guitarist Julian Marshall has travelled across America and Europe to play with blues and trad musicians. Ewan Penkey is rightly lauded and in demand for his mastery of the sousaphone and bass.
Together they blast out an original musical mix, bringing the party everywhere they play.

Sunday 13th April   Cohen Braithwayte-Kilcoyne
Cohen
Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne is at the forefront of his generation of English folk musicians as both a powerful and commanding singer and a masterful player of the Anglo concertina and melodeon. Since bursting onto the scene in his teens, Cohen has amassed a string of awards and nominations, including a nomination for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Horizon Award in 2018, and has toured extensively across the UK and abroad, both as a soloist and with the much-loved energetic trio Granny’s Attic. Expect traditional songs and tunes along with some self-penned material and a few surprises along the way.

A spine-tingling traditional folk performer, Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne (Granny’s Attic) is a fine player of both the melodeon and Anglo concertina. His rich voice soars through a range of historical ballads, industrial songs and shanties, with a particular penchant for material from the West Midlands, where he’s lived for much of his life.

Sunday 18th May   Monkey see monkey do
Monkey see
Monkey See Monkey Do met in Southampton's bustling folk scene, where Sam grew up and Helen and Matt didn't.
After many well-spent evenings at folk music sessions in Hampshire pubs, the band came together in the summer of 2015. Combining vocals with fiddle, guitar, bodhran, clarinet and the occasional squeeze of melodeon, Monkey See Monkey Do take traditional and modern material and make it their own, describing their upbeat sound as ‘folk-ish’.
